Our Story
Ms. Hotty Hotty was born from heritage, resilience, and a love for bold Caribbean flavor.
Founder Roxann Whittingham immigrated to Canada in 2012 with a clear vision: to build a future grounded in opportunity, faith, and purpose. A lifelong cook and former Food and Nutrition teacher from Jamaica, Roxann had been creating in the kitchen since the age of twelve. When her professional path in Canada led her toward entrepreneurship, she embraced the opportunity to build something of her own—rooted in culture, ownership, and legacy.
In December 2017, after settling in Barrie, Ontario, Roxann deeply missed the flavors of home. It was her teenaged son Akeem, then about 15, who sparked the idea when he said, “Why don’t you make something? You were always so creative.” That moment reignited her passion and led to the first batch of Ms. Hotty Hotty Jerk Marinade.
Shared at a church dinner, the response was immediate, and the brand was born.
Today, Ms. Hotty Hotty is a proudly Canadian, family-owned business, operated with her teenaged son Joshua, Akeem’s younger brother and her main business partner. Every jar delivers the taste of Jamaica—crafted in Canada, fueled by family, faith, and fire.
